Our Approach
Our first investment was on our own roof.
We invested in a 12,000-panel solar plant with a capacity of 6.5 MWp (DC) / 5 MW (AC) on the roof of the Midaş factory campus in Kahramanmaraş. The aim was for the factory to generate its own electricity; the plant was commissioned in 2021 and operated by the group.
Buildings and Operations
Efficiency begins with design.
We approach energy efficiency holistically, from the design of our projects through to their operation.
Well-designed buildings — Siting, façade and layout decisions are based on solar, climate and usage data.
Thermal insulation — The building envelope and window systems are designed to minimise heat loss.
Efficient systems — Preference is given to highly energy-efficient equipment and systems, such as radiator-free underfloor heating.
Efficient operation — The efficiency targeted at the design stage is maintained after handover, in operation with Hera Yönetim.
Clean Energy Generation
The goal: a long-term energy portfolio.
Energy Investments, the group's newest arm, invests in renewable energy plants and operates them. Energy is one of the group's strategic growth areas; the aim is to build a generation portfolio that grows over the years.
Experience — The group invested in the solar plant on the roof of the Midaş campus for its own consumption and operated it; today's investment approach rests on that experience.
Portfolio approach — Each plant is acquired not for resale but as a permanent part of the portfolio.
Build or acquire — Both building a new plant and acquiring one already in operation are possible.
Current status — The first projects are under evaluation in Europe; the investment decision is matured on technical, financial and operational data.
Sustainability is not a slogan for the group; it is part of its investment decisions.
